Other works include "Aphorisms"--a new work written for him by Joseph Hallman based on texts by Lorca; rarely heard blues and improvised works by Conlon Nancarrow & Charles Ives; two nocturnal preludes by Debussy and Morton Feldman's meditative final piano work "Palais de Mari".

The Jasper String Quartet will perform the NYC premiere of Gosfield’s new string quartet inspired by the radio transmissions of resistance groups in WWII, commissioned by the Caramoor Festival. This new work incorporates musical materials drawn from the mysterious “Messages Personnels” broadcast to the French Resistance, a silken code scarf used by Danish Resistance members, and processes of encryption. In this rare opportunity to present her chamber work alongside her band, Gosfield's trio will also perform "EWA7", a concert-length piece inspired by factory sounds originally composed and premiered in the industrial environments of Nuremberg, Germany.

This fine young string quartet will perform a program that spans from the 18th Century to the 21st Century, including a late work by the father of the string quartet (Haydn Op. 77 No. 1); Alban Berg's monumental yet cryptic Lyric Suite; and the NYC premiere of maverick Annie Gosfield's latest quartet. The Jasper String Quartet is the 2009-10 Ernst C. Stiefel String Quartet-in-Residence at the Caramoor Center for Music and Arts, the graduate string quartet in residence at Yale, and will be the quartet in residence at Oberlin this fall.

This brand new project was born around the music that Marco Cappelli wrote inspired by the characters of the Fred Vargas' mystery books. For the ones who know the French writer Fred Vargas, it will be easy to recognize the profile of Adamsberg, Danglard, Retancourt.... Usually played in a kind of chamber music acoustic sound enviroment, this music is tonight premiered in its electric version.

Formed in 2007, Breakfast of Champignons is named in honor of two events: The passing of novelist Kurt Vonnegut (1922-2007) and the 40th anniversary of “The Summer of Love”
